Ark in various incarnations has been helping people make places and spaces since 1991 when Lee Battersby formed the Ark Partnership. Following a brief merger in 2011, Lee Battersby and Deborah Wakley reformed Ark in 2005 and have been operating as practice principles since then.

Throughout this time we have and continue to work with other architects, technical staff and specialists across a wide variety of projects and commissions brought to us primarily through personal recommendation and returning clients. We believe that the design process should be a shared experience and this forms a principle part of our relationship with our clients, colleagues and everyone working on the project.
